Garage Door Laser Not Working

A common cause of a malfunctioning garage door sensor is lack of power supply.

Many are surprised by this but we aren t. If the laser s beam is broken the garage door should reverse and sometimes the opener system will have an additional warning like flashing the garage light. We have observed brand new light bulbs that don t work right out of the box. The first is an obstruction in the path of the door and therefore in the path of the sensor.

Cycle the garage door through the opening and closing actions using the control on the garage wall or the remote unit from a vehicle. If they re turned on in both the sensors then there is no issue with the power supply. These sensors keep your family and your car safe from the door so long as they are working properly. Sensor power reconnect the sensor to its power supply.

If your garage door opener light is not working the fix might be as simple as changing the light bulb. Two types of accidental obstructions can cause the safety sensor to prevent a garage door from closing. Look for small led lights on the sensors.
